I'm not Indian so I'm just wondering how Indians feel about this. In some countries, people are very sensitive to any kind of separatism or contested sovereignty while in others people are tolerant of this. I'm neutral to this issue to be clear.
No
No
Kashmir has strategic importance with hostile neighbors on both sides. So India won’t let go of it. But it’s inhabited by humans-who deserve to decide what they want for their identity. It’s a promise we haven’t delivered to the people of Kashmir which has caused them to feel alienated and forge their own separate identity
India will be crushed by China and their own existence is going to be a question. Let alone holding onto any disputed land.
Okay. We won’t be “crushed” by China. Easy.
Maybe
It’s like saying let’s give Texas or California to Mexico.
I think there should be a referendum in Kashmir. If at least 2/3 of the population wants independence, they should be permitted to secede from the union.
The moment they secede, China will start encroaching land eventually leading to a conflict. India will probably intervene and eventually a ceasefire will be reached with each side holding a slice of Kashmir leaving the Kashmiris screwed.
How is that in India's interest? Which country has allowed its own territory to separate in the last 200 years, especially if it's bordered with hostile countries on the other side? What's to prevent Pakistan or China from setting up bases if that real estate were not part of India? No government or leader in India can ever talk about secession, because the people of India will not support it. I feel Kashmiris should forget about this secession business. It is possible to prosper economically, culturally and diplomatically while being a part of India. India is a democratic country, despite all its flaws it is the best framework to work with.
That's like saying Hawaii should be independent. It has no chance to go independent. Just like Tibet belongs to China now but against the wish of locals. Or Hawaii to US.
Free Kashmir!!
Sorry it's inhabited by Devils, same neighbours with whom u enjoyed festivals k!lled more than 5000 and made 3 million Kashmiri Hindus homeless , as State Govt was of Ms and Central Govt was M symptheizer, 3 million Kashmiri Pandits were made refugees in their own country. It's their pattern where ever Ms are majority they won't let other religions survive. Say Jew, Christian, Yezdi, Hindu.
Free balochistan
Yes, then the US will send them foreign aid to buy a friendship.
No tbh - it’s too beautiful to let go.
I believe we need to urgently liberate Pakistani people from the grips of Pakistani army, first. Please prioritize. Pakistan as an Indian state, once again after 1947, will prosper. Fuck Kashmir. Think big.
Kashmir used to have Hindus and Sikhs before they were killed and forced to flee from their homes because of religion of peace.
