I keep seeing articles and reading about tensions incresimg between china and taiwan and china could be ready for a war any time.... now that it feels like it can be anytime this could mean disruption to semi conductor industry and it will have impacts on global economy.. so any recommendations from an investment stand point? Like any alternatives that could see a potential growth? Or things to look out for?
Feel unlikely unless the US chooses to officially back Taiwan for independence.
I saw more and more news articles about it happening by 2027. It’ll be disastrous for semiconductor industry. Hope that will not happen.
For sure it will happen

If Russia wins the Ukraine war, it's as good as done.... The Chinese will assume the West will cave..... OTOH if the West successfully defends Ukraine the Chinese will back off....

Historically, Taiwan was governed by various Chinese dynasties from the 17th century until it was ceded to Japan in 1895 after the First Sino-Japanese War. Following Japan’s defeat in World War II, Taiwan was placed under the administrative control of the Republic of China (ROC) in 1945. After the Chinese Civil War ended in 1949, the ROC government retreated to Taiwan as the People’s Republic of China (PRC) was established on the mainland. The PRC considers Taiwan a breakaway province that must be reunified with the mainland, a view that influences its diplomatic relationships and policy decisions. This perspective is part of the “One China” policy, which is recognized by many countries around the world and asserts that there is only one Chinese government.
