Would you tell manager that you clinically depressed? I am able seem I am functioning normally but I talked to Dr and they show I am in the serious level of depression. I cry randomly, is a struggle to do my daily chore. Work not much affected. #depression
No. Especially not in an informal setting. If you really need to take a lot of time off to recover, do so through FMLA and have a conversation with your provider about not disclosing anything related to work struggles you might have discussed. Managers can be vindictive and not understanding of the situation. Happened to me and they dinged my performance review, blaming me for being sick.
Sounds like you may need to take some PTO and or explore short term leave options. Imo you should keep your psych status between yourself and your physician, and I hope you find a treatment plan that gives you improved joy and peace.
Just depends. My manager and I have a great relationship and I can tell them anything, they do the same surprisingly. If you have to ask though then I would not tell them.
Please remember, managers in most cases are NOT your friends. Do not share sensitive info with them, unless you don’t mind it coming back and biting your a*s later.
No, and absolutely not to an Indian manager. A euro/American manager might, at worst, report you directly to the HR. An Indian manager on the other hand will continue to drag you along and Gaslight you very often. Blaming every small mistake on your mental health and showing as if he's doing a favour by keeping you employed while you're clinically depressed.
You could take FMLA leave.
I thank everyone for there responses. Appreciate the insights, take care
Helll no
Absolutely not
If you do it you'll have something else to be depressed about.
