Maybe. Depends how much they have their shit together, how big they are etc. I worked for a smaller company, left after 7 months. They never asked. A friend worked at Amazon in 2016, they repeatedly sent letters via registered mail, he ignored, never heard anything else from them. Could be different now though
money is money, and they'd want to enforce it so it doesnt set a precedent for others or for you to break other terms in the contract
