I have a cybersecurity startup idea in the identity access management space. I’ve seen a need for it through my years at work, I know exactly how to build a proof of concept that I can take to custom. The only problem is, I asked myself the following questions: - Why does this idea matter to me? - Why is it that you should be the one solving it and not someone else? I couldn’t answer those questions. In fact, I feel like my life could go on normally if I ditched this idea. In other words, I’m doubting my conviction. Does conviction really matter as an entrepreneur? Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance! #startup
OP: I have some thoughts and prior experience in this space as well. DM me if you are looking for a potential cofounder.
It matters because it ensures persistence and resilience. Without it, you will quit the second you run into difficulties.
+1 ideas are worthless. Assume by default that you'll pivot multiple times. Persistence is the only thing that will carry you through that journey.
it is the only thing that matters. (ideas themselves are worthless). DM me to share the idea. i have deep knowledge in this space and can vet the idea for you and either encourage you or wave you off

VC is investing as much in the founder as in the business idea. Conviction will help in taking calculated risks and in following through with your plans
