There was slew of articles in Chinese media taking about how plant in India will fail . Then we have Elon saying he can’t go to India due to commitments but suprise he is now in China.

Op, please don’t spread hatred between China and India. Musk is flying to China to seek approval of FSD permit in China. It has nothing to do with India.
That’s the official word but Chinese media pushed slew of articles slamming India venture right after Elon cancelled his trip (India officials weren’t even told about it spent $$ planning for it and found it from social media about his cancellation. Indian officials tried to it book it week after but Elon ignored the request) and then he booked China one, so it is all coincidence right.
Contrary to outsiders belief, Chinese government does not have complete control over media, as long as media does not call to topple the government. So they can say what they want, and they only attract eyeballs for the sake of getting more Ads revenue. Tesla had secured permission to run FSD as the other selected few domestic car makers. This would be impossible in United States or India. It truly shows China is more of market economy than what those other countries proclaims to be.
Elon will regret, India is the future, not China.

Tesla already cannot compete with Chinese EVs. In the US, it is irrational to get an ICE car over a Tesla. In China, it is irrational to get a Tesla over a Chinese EV. Moving to India will only make it worse for Tesla.

There's 0% chance China would let Elon's FSD to operate on their street no matter how many dicks Elon suck. They've already raised concern about how Tesla is literal US spyware with how much cameras, sensors on their EVs and how Tesla can remotely control their vehicles. Same result would likely happen in India since Modi is also super cautious about national security
