Has anyone been able to get their elderly parents to stay on B2 visa in USA. I am on h1-b and want to keep my parents in USA with me. There is a provision in foreign affairs manual to keep elderly parents in USA for years on b2 .
Following.
Best to check with an attorney.
Health insurance is going to be a huge issue. It is prohibitively expensive and they won't be eligible for Medicare for years. California, I believe, is the only state that can help with coverage.
Have you applied for a gc ? That might reduce the chances of approval. Talk to an immigration attorney
Yes for PERM. will this negatively impact my case.
I have researched this extensively, and not possible on H1B, even for green card, only possible if you are a US citizen
There is a section in foreign exchange manual for cohabitant for elderly parents.
not applicable for Indians, I have read that
My parents visit 6 months every year from past 4 years , I stay 3 months in my home country, that's how im managing it
Not possible. You can sponsor them once you are citizen. Until then 6 month visit is the only option.
Just keep them here, overstay their stay. No one is going to find and deport them. There are millions of illegal immigrants living here.
Has anyone tried 1 year at port of entry for elderly parent.
U can apply for extension once they are in USA
Is this really possible?
