Dear Brothers and Sisters of blind, I fear lay offs on H1B in the USA. I am on a H1B Visa with an i-140 approved. I want to explore if I can get a work visa in Canada based on my H1B visa AND Master's degree (from USA) Few questions: 1) What is the process to explore the Canada option? I can at least get a PR in Canada after 5 years. 2) If folks have already implemented the move to Canada option, what steps did you follow? #layoffs #h1b #movetocanada #canada
Canada is shit. Better move to Hyderabad, Banglore or Pune. Much better opportunities
Opportunities is only a part of the story. Quality of life is something that’s a personal preference.
Quality of life in Canada is definitely worse than India. The healthcare, the taxes, the cost of living, purchasing power, the real estate is pathetic. The only good thing is air quality than India but then you'll be living in snow for half the year
Has it been 180 days post I-140 approval Op? You need to stay 180 days after I-140 approval if not employer can pull the case back.
Avoid Canada at all costs. It's high col with low salaries rivaling what you would get in Bangalore with conversion. Don't make the same mistake I did.
It’s even worse in san Francisco
You can buy your way out of those problems.
No bro. We don't need more engineers in Canada. F off
bidenomics! Now you know, my H1b-er
Please stay in India. I heard it’s the next superpower. You don’t want to miss that train
No. Blind users said its already a superpower! And will become the second superpower soon! Wow Yep people there trying so hard to get out 😂
@OP Its hard to get a job in Canada without PR in first place. You need to apply for PR via express entry and only then apply for jobs in Canada (from US). I understand you want to move a safer place compared to where you are currently. I also understand that you wouldn't like to go back to base country assuming that it took a lot of resource to get out in first place. But you can't think of digging a well when you are thirsty. The express entry process is point based and depends on your age, experience, qualification, IELTS score and dependents. Even if you are lucky with a high score, it will take 1 to 1.5 years to get PR from the time of invitation for PR. So you are looking at atleat 1.5 years to 2 years to get PR, then get a job and then move here. By then the market would have picked up in US. As mentioned by people; the pay is less, taxes are high and housing cost to income ratio a bit skewed (compared to US). But there is peace of mind here. Especially if you are planning for a family or already have one.
Give your IELTS first
Canada is full, I heard there’s a land full of spices in the east that has many opportunities. No visa needed
What do you mean by full? Are there zero Software engineering opportunities? Also what is land full of spices in the east mean? I am confused.
India is the land full of spices xD
