I am extremely stressed, looking for some pointers on how to come out of this situation in my career. I am a finance professional with about 10 years of experience. Have also worked as a business analyst as well as engineering program manager for about 2 years each. But I do not have deep finance knowledge because of several reasons (job requirements, frequent job changes, visa problems, family problems etc etc). Now, I was laid off from my current company and am currently jobless. Now, I want to be in a stream that provides me with a stable job for at least the next five years. My spouse insists that I venture into AI as a program or a product person and then slowly grow my way up. His idea is to approach startups and offer my work for free or even bare minimum salary for 2-3 months so that they get a chance to evaluate me and then put me on regular payroll if it's a mutual fit. I am ready to study AI provided it doesn't involve any coding as I really have no interest in coding. I am an SQL expert, however, and I love to do that. Can someone help me navigate this difficult situation? Are there any meetup groups where I can meet people in the same situation? Is there any professional help available to discuss my case and provide some guidance ? Note: I am not too much hung up on any domain for now. I am ready to start as a fresher (even without salary) but I want a stable career and good growth options down the road. I am on EAD, so I don't need any visa sponsorships either. Any genuine help is greatly appreciated. And so are any referrals :) #jobs #career #ai #finance
