My current TC is 380k. Base 244k, bonus 25%, yearly cash bonus 80k (instead of stock). I am senior staff at Samsung and have 14 YoE in general and 7 YoE specific to the job that I work on I got an offer from Cisco that I was really excited about since I do want to quit my current company due to reorg and tons of Korean infested politics The recruiter gave me this offer as the best offer he and the manager can bring to the table and that there is no room for negotiation. Base : 230k bonus : 12% RSU : 240k with 3 year vesting so the total comp is 337k. Sign on bonus is 50k. They are offering me grade 11 The recruiter said that I must spend the next few years trying to make more money by doing really good work (as though that’s what I need to do to prove that I deserve what I already make), and that they don’t know enough about me to pay me more and from the seven rounds of 45 minute webex interview they can’t tell. He also made it sound like the manager was too busy to give me clarity on the level of influence or impact I would have Overall I feel devalued and hurt and disrespected by the way this recruiter has spoken with me. He’s said that if I were his sister he would advice me to take the job that gives me happiness and not money. I am a brown woman, if that matters at all. Any tips on how to deal with such conversations and individuals who feel entitled to speak in such a manner
It’s their job to lowball and save money, but some recruiters like these don’t realize how pushy they are, or how it is perceived by the candidate. Do not give in, you deserve what you deserve and should not settle for less. Tell that recruiter your number and that you will sign the offer immediately if they can pay you that
In this market to demand the most you need multiple offers to present
You got an offer. Be happy you got one. Your race doesn't matter here. Take it or don't - your call.
Not worth move .. change only if you get at least 20% bump.
I don’t know how bad Korean politics is, but let me tell you Cisco might not be much better. You can dm me if you want info.
You should not involve feelings in these stuff. Some companies value you more, some value you less. It is not a guarantee that others will only value you equal or more.
Every company has politics
