My Boss Missed My Birthday
Posting for a friend. Recently, my boss sent invites for everyone’s birthday to the team but forgot mine. I can’t help but feel ignored and under appreciated. Last year I also noticed we said happy birthday during team meetings to everyone through the year but again nothing for me. It’s in my workday too. All feels silly but what gives?#officelife Should I tell my boss?
You also do the same for the entire team and don't include your boss.
It's a birthday. It doesn't really matter if you're older than, say, 13.
Happened with me couple of time, I stopped giving a f and stoped responding to team congratulation emails
Feels bad though cause they of course want to congratulate them as well. But it’s like out of a team of 6, no one has noticed?
I think this is pure discrimination, you should immediately escalate this.. don't wait for Monday

My friend just received a big raise. I don’t think that’s the issue haha.
Unfortunately favoritism is real. You can't escape it. They will not change. best you can do is grow a thick skin.
The issue is your friend is sensitive. Boss may have forgotten.. They are human too. Wish your friend Happy birthday from all of us.
My previous manager explained it to me in very simple terms. In corporate the only thing that matters is "money". If you are getting good ratings, promo etc.. then "Star of the sprint", this-that other bullshit is for people who'll not get that "Star" in their final annual review, or promo. Goes without saying - Always recieved highest rating possible, timely promos. Didn't receive any participation trophies. When I asked for promo, manager highlighted my contribution well in front of Directors etc.. and got me that promo.
He probably thinks you don’t have a birthday. Tell him.
