L3 at GCP vs L3 at Databricks. The team at both the companies is good. For me, Databricks' stock is worth $0 until they IPO. Edit (Can't edit the poll): DB Stock = 3750 units / 4 years.
How much equity did db throw at you? Cant go wrong with either of those choices, good luck! Personally I would go to databricks rather than G at this point.
Google on resume might look better.
Yes, to your grandmother or someone else who is not familiar with tech.
Go tell Biden you worked for DataBricks… or any other president
You’ll learn a lot more at Databricks. I’m an L6 Eng manager at google and have worked both inside and outside of the company. Feel free to DM me if you need advice. Also, don’t count your databricks equity as 0. Evaluate it in terms of “best case” “worst case” and “average case scenario”
Being able to rationally evaluate uncertain outcomes seems like a competency that is not displayed here... But regardless, if you want meaningful poll results, put the actual amount of DB paper equity and let the citizens of blind apply their own multiplier when voting.
That Google equity is low. Way too low. Is that the market rate nowadays? If we go by TC, DB is the obvious choice. Even if the company's value is slashed in half, you are still ahead.
Google offers have been pretty bad for quite a while. I had an L3 offer in 2021 that was ~130k base, 90k stock over 4 years (33% front loaded), no sign. This offer looks about the same with better nego.
Huge mistake to consider databricks equity to be worth 0. That's also why your poll results are skewed. Even discounting 25% on equity, the databricks offer is financially better
Who wants shitty paper money of bricks' inflated valuation
