I think I might match with a team I'm not super interested in. Would it be silly to reject them and ask the recruiter to keep looking for more potential teams? Or if I say no I won't be able to find another team. Edit: For context, after passing interviews I quickly got several team match calls. Not sure if this will slow down if I don't immediately match. Do you desperately want to get into google even if it’s a trash team? Or would you be down to stay put until you find something you like at google or elsewhere? Answering this question might answer your question here
Would it be hard to leave google and go to another company after a few years, or would I get stuck working in the area I got hired for. Like let's say I have an offer to work on X (a niche area, not totally uninteresting, but unsure how transferable the skills will be), will I be able to go another company and work on Y or Z (say some normal full stack, distributed systems role)
If you have the skills for the next job, or can create an impression good enough that you can learn them, you can always jump ship whenever you want. (I haven’t worked at google, but had an offer long ago if this info somehow matters)
