Buddy of mine interviewed at this start-up (below) recently and his story really didn’t sit well with me so I decided I had to share it with folks who may be interviewing. He had an interview with every person in the company. Process took months and they finally gave him an offer. Negotiated to a higher offer where the CEO literally phones him and later confirms it via an updated offer letter. He was hoping to sign after he got a few more generic HR questions like start date, PTO, etc. cleared up and even started the process of canceling interviews. However, within a few hours of sending the new offer they back-petaled with a generic rejection. There's no respect for founders who can't keep their word, it's unprofessional at best but at least he dodged a bullet. To those still interviewing let this be a lesson to never cancel an interview until everything is signed and definitely do not put in your notice until everything is said and done. Keep at it and never be afraid to ask questions. To founders or hiring managers who think that they can get away with this kind of behavior; wait until the market shifts, your best people leave, and your operation goes south. Karma never forgets, do better. Imagine Guy would have found out a week after he started that the CEO changes his mind quickly. I wouldn't even open any further email from that company and should be relatively easy to pick up the other interviews
