I'm trying to up skill and improve my resume. I went to a state school for my Comp Sci BS. I'd like to add to my resume but not sure how (other than Master's degree). My goal is to be more attractive, as talent, to recruiters. Any suggestions on what I could do to be more attractive to recruiters? (I'm trying to not use the word "prestige" here as its been corrupted by those on blind, but it's probably the most accurate descriptor). tax: 160k, 3yoe

Also went to no name state school. Plenty of companies willing to give you a shot and look good on a resume; MS and Amazon are probably the best and biggest and a few years at either will start getting you some bigger names in your inbox. Avoid start ups/small companies no one has ever heard of; even if they are great experience or great money if your goal is resume building you might as well take time off…if they turn out to be the next big thing it’s obviously a miss, but most don’t turn out to be the next big thing. Biggest thing to focus on is staying at the same company for at least a few years and trying to get a promo; both highlight your ability to actually work within a system and execute. Job hopping is your friend when you’re mid level+, but your enemy when you’re jr.

Also went to a state school, also worked at Microsoft. Grind to senior and get out, no one will be asking about your state school if you have other things to talk about TC: 480k, 8 YoE
No one asks about my state school and I’m an intern 😭
