My classmate Eddie was just 8 months out of college at Google before being terminated for disrupting a company event over Israeli-GCP contract. No recruiter will speak to him now because his name appears in dozens of news articles related to Nimbus protesters getting arrested (even though he was not arrested). Even if he doesn’t want to work at Google I told him he should’ve waited until he got an external job offer before throwing away his career. There has never been a harder time to find a new job, especially with 8 months of experience. We went to the same school and I think getting into Google with zero internships or qualifications got to his head. He thought his white privilege that gave him a job at Google would make him invincible to repercussions. https://x.com/NoTechApartheid/status/1778884878924403129
Lol rekt
This just happened. Recruiters are barely talking to anybody let alone disruptive employees with no experience.
I think this is more of a cautionary tale. unless its referencing some other similar event?
Eddie was fired in March. The protestors that got arrested happened few days ago. However, journalists keep digging up his name to put in recent articles about Nimbus. So anytime someone Google’s his name, it looks like he has an arrest record.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Colleges aren’t preparing these kids for the real world anymore and indoctrinating them with left wing nonsense.
I also like to write fan fiction sometimes 👍
Look up his LinkedIn, I can’t doxx but check the tweet. Still unemployed after 2 months. He has been trying to retain a lawyer to sue Google for wrongful termination but he is white so it’s hard to prove on grounds of racial/religious discrimination. He is now trying to be an influencer to change the narrative.
Yeah dude it’s totally believable that you know this guy 😂 your writing this post like you’re doing a hit piece on him
Is eddie autistic
Judge yourself from the video in the tweet. I don’t think he’s autistic, just a sheltered rich white kid who has never faced repurcussions in his life. He didn’t think he would actually be terminated.
I was amazed at how many people, usually young SWEs, bought the Google PR about being a different kind publicly traded for-profit company that isn't super interested in money, where you can bring your whole self to work and share your feelings and play hacky sack, etc. Obviously bullshit. Sucks for your friend though. That is rough for a kid.
He’ll bounce back. He’s probably intelligent enough to start his own venture
Considering what he did, he's probably not that intelligent
Doubtful.
He supports terrorism. It’s a good thing that US employers won’t hire him.
A good life lesson to use his head and work hard, instead of listening to propaganda much. Unfortunately most colleges nowadays spend more time on propaganda than on actual learning, and students confuse the two.
Should we start a go fund me for Google?
