Amazon PIP Season

Just got piped to fill the quote for the Org as March is here. I just haven't feeling well since joined the company(1.5 year as SDE1). Direct manager is pretty push/passively rude. All feedback/tips raised during retro were denied at the end, feeling burned out, but got denied all my PTO request, hasn't taken time off(got denied) since Sep 2023. 2 L6 4 L5 Left in the last couple months... I actually kind of feel relief knowing I'm leaving here now as well. I'm always stressed for last several months and feel uncontrolled yelling at wife sometimes(really regret). I definitely feel I need to go somewhere treat people normally. Please if you can refer me, greatly appreciated! Seattle/open to relocate/US Citizen TC:0 soon. #Amazon #AmazonPIP

What he denied your PTO?!? He can’t do that. PTO is your right not your privilege. Do you have documentation of him denying you PTO? If so I would involve Hr. You don’t have anything to lose now

Vacation days apparently can be denied. PTO maybe not. HR ain't going to do jack shit, especially now that OP is in pivot.

Getting pipped from Amazon is the best thing that can happen to anyone right now. Count your blessings. Amazon wants people to leave without severance and is trying its best for it. I have so many friends there who considered volunteering to get PIPed. Things are that bad at Amazon right now, so this or layoff is literally the best outcome. Enjoy that severance and I'm sure you'll find something within the next 6 months. Take it easy.

I got PIPed recently too. It's not a great feeling, but I think this maybe for the best. Team mates tell me that everyday is a firedrill to justify existence, ratings and comp is going to be brutal too. At least you're getting tier 1 severance. Others will likely leave due to burn out etc.
