Got the following offer from Splunk for their AI/ML team: Base: $252k Bonus: 20% Stocks: $450k over 3 years Sign on Bonus: $60k The role is remote and is for Principal Applied Scientist. Current TC: $485k without stock appreciation PhD+6 YOE Is this a good offer? Also a bit worried about the CISCO merger but even the VP assured me that the AI/ML org is only going to grow. Thanks in advance!

Damn
Why r u surprised?
Hello sir splunk, I’m a desperate CS new grad from uni top 7 rank, with 2 internships from fortune 500 companies. I already finished 700 LC questions and prep interviews for 6 months… Can I ask for referral to a new grad position from u, please? You could take a look at my resume and see if Im good enough for u to refer… I just need a job to pay off my student loan🥲
Honestly, I don’t think it is worth the risk. I don’t know about the AI team specifically but internally things are really shitty at Splunk. If you are AI/ML with so many companies competing to get you onboard I don’t really see why you would go with Splunk. I’d only take it as a last option.
Say more. Why Splunk is bad ? Their ai/ml team seems to be growing.

You are not getting stocks. Your $450k is capped. No growth there. Aren’t you dropping your TC? With splunk your TC will be 452k.
Op - did you join ?
Splunk is overppriced
They’re literally getting bought out at a defined price
Splunk is delisted. They don't give RSU only LTC (long term cash awards), which is a bad deal if you live in Poland (very high tax on LTC, versus fixed 19% on RSUs)
