* PTO is pretty good * Can be great if you’re on a good team. * Not a bad job out of college
My review was a little more positive before I was reorged without any input as to where I would go * TC is below average for SWE. This was somewhat okay before RTO, now with mandatory 3 days a week in office, it’s inexcusable. * career development in software development/engineering is basically non-existent. * A lot of incompetent nontechnical leadership running technical teams. They tend to be micromanagers. Also a surprising amount of PMs that don’t know anything about their own projects. * on the topic of incompetent leadership, RTO has been abysmal. Not enough desks or parking in some locations. Something the workforce have warned about for a year+ * If you’re good at something, leadership will exploit you and overall disrespect your time. * Your 401k matching doesn’t vest at all until 3 years. There are actually quite a few interesting mechanisms that almost seem orchestrated to keep you stuck at GM.
