5YOE, here is my resume below I would appreciate feedback. Currently at a big NY company making what feels like peanuts for my YOE so started LCing and Sys designing for more pay, but I can't even clear the resume screen. The one caveat right now is at my current company there was a reorg and I was moved teams for data engineering work, I should be moved back but I've had quite some impact I am trying to highlight so I split up both teams on my resume. I should move back to the other more backend role, but how should I highlight both on my resume? tc 135K #Google #Leetcode #ResumeReview #Resume #HireMe #Maanga #FAANG
You are fine just the market is ridiculously hard ! Folks with 10+ years are taking Sr dev roles that pay $250k. Majority of the folks laid off last year are picking desi consultancy jobs to just remain on H1B let alone having high paid salaries. There is too much supply now for the company to choose from thus you won’t be able to stand out if you are just looking at the top pay or postings. Only way out is through your network if anyone knows you.
It’s hard but I want to get to the top!! Been making peanuts for too long
You can’t by doing what you are doing. It ain’t linear ! You need a better strategy cause yours is old school way of stuff
Your resume format is that of a fresh grad. I’m a hiring manager and you’ve done too many things which makes it hard for me to figure out what you really know well and more importantly what you want to do. 3-4 bullet points per job. Tailor your resume to your job.
What format should I use? I did a resume review from a google HM and he said use colors which is why I have them
I charge $1k for a resume rehaul . If you want to work with me, book on ReflectedWorth.com. Free 30m chat. Agreed your resume does you no favors- you appear super inexperienced.
Way too many sentences. Make it all more concise. Looking at it makes me wanna chuck it.
dat font though
What font is best?
I'd suggest a sans-serif font, because I believe CVs are mostly (or only) viewed on a screen and not printed
OP - you mention people told you to change colors and fonts; unless you are using yellow comic sans those are not what’s holding you back
Everything you wrote about your most recent job could be one short bullet point. Idk where recruiters stop reading, but this is a big opportunity for improvement. Or if you're looking to keyword stuff the ATS, make the tasks sound like more distinct projects
You should combine both teams …. Too much text. Its not your resume… its market
