Holy river?
No civic sense unfortunately.
I mean we could all treat our moms better
So unfortunate
It was fortunate to have the river. This is just abuse.
Majority of Indians are irrational and real smart rational Indians are either complacent or blindsided by religion and ignore these kinda real problems such as infrastructure, population and pollution. Their leaders are busy developing/copying superficial structures/infrastructure to compete with china for global manufacturing hub without looking / fixing core issues.
I think both are happening. I have observed Ganga ghat in Varanasi cleaner than how it used to be 10 years back. In order to make it better, you need money 💰. Money comes from businesses and competition. India is still poor overall but getting better.
Modinomics
Ironically, British rivers were even worse during the Industrial Revolution period. They had covered all their rivers and turned them into drains. It’s just a matter of growth for a country. West already had theirs, East is in the process.
Still waiting for the East to catch up....
China, SK, Japan all have better infrastructure than the west. India, who has aspirations of becoming a superpower, has a long way to go
Jesus.
I've said it before but India needs to push for infrastructure jobs, not tech.
Tech brings money from outside. Infrastructure drains money from inside
And how's that working out so far Tourism brings in money and nobody wants to visit a dirty city
