People take a US passport for granted. It’s crazy how powerful it is when it comes to tourism.
It's partly self serving for Europe, Americans have lots of $$$ and many have European roots that they want to "explore". People from other developed countries spend money and go home, people from developing countries just want to cheat the system and stay.

Why travel to Europe? Plenty of direct flights to USA or route through one of the West Asian hubs.
Although if there is desire to visit sights, best do it before the war heats up.

I thought most countries did not require visas to travel to Europe. Almost all South American citizens (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina etc.) can travel to Europe for tourism without visas.
It has to do with levels of abuse and overstays.
