Do you use a luxury car as a daily?

Looking to buy a 2022 992 S. Found my dream spec and the price is not too bad. Now, my question to people who own a luxury/sport car. Do you drive it daily or just as a weekend car? I would love to drive it daily but even a thought about leaving it anywhere but my garage makes me sweat :) Does it mean I am going over my price range for a car? Or that’s normal and I should just use it for joyrides and don’t feel bad about it? I’ll make my own mind obviously but wanted to have a fun conversation.

Which one if it’s not a secret?

Corolla.

Live your life. Drive the damn thing. Before you know it, you are gone.

100%. Just curious about others experiences.

Daily. Life’s too short to spend it driving a boring car.

Apple stopai OP Apr 29

Fully agreed! What are you driving?

Snap Seraphine! Apr 29

Sports car! C8 Z06.

YOLO. But sports car is different from luxury car.

Apple stopai OP Apr 29

Sure. The reason I combined them is because of a price tag.

What’s your ride?

A 992 is not a luxury car. It is a sports car. Very few people here actually own luxury cars (e.g. Bentley, Rolls Royce, Mercedes S-Class, etc) Any car can be a daily driver if you can live with the limitations and the running costs. Different people have different priorities. For a low sports car, you may want to consider things like speed bumps at places you frequent and things like that.

Agree on 911 not being a luxury car. I own an older Porsche (6MT) and I am a fan boy.

Cool car. While a 911 is not a luxury car, owning one is certainly a luxury.

Why don’t you hire a driver to take care of your car while you’re away?

Apple stopai OP Apr 29

That’s what you’re doing I guess :) congrats on your stock appreciation!

NVIDIA moreo Apr 29

Thank you! I am not rich enough for such expenses but if you have the money to purchase a luxury car, bear the running costs, why not spend on a driver too? It wouldn’t look good that you drive such a prestigious car on your own.

Only issue I find with such a fast car as daily driver is trickets. Even if you go at speed limit, jealous cops like to target practice. Otherwise great.

Apple stopai OP Apr 29

And the problem is you want to drive it in sports plus mode only and enjoy the symphony of the exhaust all the time. I will require a lot of restraint and discipline :)

And you will be constantly thinking about "fine tuning" which is like a 5k ticket

Beautiful, congrats! 🚘 🔥 Daily is a daily is a daily is a daily.

Apple stopai OP Apr 29

Thank you! It’s beautiful indeed but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I’d absolutely daily it. Assuming I could buy one in the first place. I live in Seattle and don’t have a dedicated garage space right now so am currently settling for luxury SUVs I park on the street at this point. :(

Amazon khvgvccc Apr 29

I feel kind of bad curbing my 22s. I’d be a lot sadder if the wheels were attached to a sports car.

Apple stopai OP Apr 29

What’s your SUV? How come it’s a problem with parking space in Seattle?

Meta bkmrte Apr 29

Always…If you don’t drive it daily, you are not a G yet
