How does the market look for Product Designer jobs(

Done with grad school soon, and I’ve been applying to jobs for the past month. I have around 5 years of experience and am looking for senior level positions. I’ve applied to around 15 jobs and have gotten one hiring manager interview out of that. I’ve only worked at start-ups but want to work on a larger design team. It seems like it’s going to be a long journey from here, and I regret not starting the search sooner. How long has it taken you guys to find senior PD jobs? #design #ui/ux #jobsearch

Would recommend applying to new grad roles and negotiating pay later to get close to a senior's. If you're coming out of grad school, you're considered a new grad, previous experience sadly doesn't count, unless it's in Big Tech comapnies and you've worked on large public-facing projects.

In this market, it’s still tough but getting a tiny bit better. I know people who had applied for months with little feedback on applied roles. The only way I ever got my role was by networking and talking to people I know at other companies. They’re able to get you higher on the list but it’s never a guarantee. Leverage your network for referrals. Polish your portfolio as much as you can. Top talent is what’s getting jobs these days.
