I have a remote job and can move anywhere in the US (contiguous). Where should I move? Factors to consider: 1. Don't Like snow/cold weather. (Most of the states are out) 2. Don't like gloomy weather all the time. (No Washington or similar states) 3. No HCOL (Bay area, NYC). Only MCOL or LCOL (preferred). 4. Family does not like too hot. (Phoenix might not work) 5. Don't want to be in a remote village or a big city. Something in between. Access to highway, restaurants (not all cuisine needed) and entertainment preferred. 6. Major airport for international travels preferred but wiling to drive 2 hours to get to it. 7. Want to own a house with a yard and property price should be under 500k. In summary, want to live in an area where I can save more with the best possible weather. Don't have to be a party city but should not be dull as hell. TC: 295k
North Carolina
North Carolina housing, in the metro areas, is over $500K.
That’s cheap
I’m also remote. 210k TC. I visited North Carolina last year and really liked it. Gonna move to Cary when my lease is up this summer
San Antonio/Houston. Occasionally hot.
Sedona,AZ
Nothing to do or eat in Sedona. Prescott, AZ would be a better option.
