So finally resigned amazon. Hired as fully remote, forced to relocate! Amazon being Unethical, they gave me 2 options. Relocate or Volunteer resignation, so they can avoid Severance package and could get away with another round of layoffs ! Nice play, but they shouldnβt ruin ppl careers with these cheap tricks. With current job market out there, one can expect how things could be. No complaints on managers, as they cant do anything when it comes to RTO! Of course those who are getting Exceptions from RTO, i suspect they were not permanent. But, happy to get a job offer from another company that values WLB ! months of stress comes to an end. I now have a job offer and accepted it, so no RTO ! Hope Amazon will stop these unethical tactics in future. I literally hope(i know it wont happen) those S-team folks who are coming up with blunt ideas like this, will be kicked out.
Amazon is a dumpster fire.
You shouldnβt have resigned. Force them to fire you and pay severance and unemployment. Use the time to look for other jobs.
OPs post reads like he/she has a job lined up.
Honestly cant risk career for Severance ! They gave me time to relocate, so utilized it for searching job, got a job offer , resigned before time to relocate.
I'm trying to interview and resign but the job market is tough
Hope you get one soon. !
Forced to relocate to Seattle?
Yes
Unfortunate. Market appears to be climbing back up again and hopefully you will land on another remote job soon π€π½
In the past 2 weeks I received a lot of interview invitations from good companies. Any recruiter approaching me on LinkedIn, I ask them to wait until I am done with the interviews. On average I am getting 2 interviews per week. The means that the job market is recovering. I have been applying since January and the last 2 weeks was the peak of responses. I also noticed more non-senior/staff level positions on the job postings in the last 2 weeks. I think that March and April was the bottom and the market is recovering. π€πΌ
This should be a separate topic.
Can you name few companies you got invitations from?
RTO is unethical for you? Ethically thatβs the only way to save Commercial R/E from crashing π
I think so. It forces you to move when your company hired you as remote.
Do you have an offer in hand? Cause if not thatβs just dumb
I do have an offer and accepted it
Congrats OP. Where are you headed to?
