I have recently moved from Sydney / still working remotely with my Sydney company. I haven’t started applying for jobs in the Bay Area as yet. I just wanted to understand if having Atlassian, KPMG, PWC, and some not-for-profit global companies adds value. I am pretty nervous about this move (Sydney=>SF). Current TC $200k Experience 15+ years
atlassian is good enough for big tech. kpmg and other consults are good for startups and old tech
Definitely. Above all you’re looking for brand recognition and pretty much everybody has heard of those companies.
Atlassian, KPMG, PWC are all good and will add value to your resume. You just need a recognisable "proper" company, but beyond that it's all about portfolio, YOE and domain expertise.
More important than the companies is your portfolio and experience working cross functionally.
Lol always Google with these type of comments. Company matters a LOT. 5 years at Google can easily "outweigh" many years at Z-list companies.
Both, those companies are known enough to know you’re experienced working at a legit companies. So that will help open doors for better or worse. But then of course your portfolio will be the proof.
