Currently drive an 86 but want something more, I bought the 86 during layoffs so I compromised on what to buy Currently considering F87 M2 (OG), Supra (tho this is expensive), Loaded new M240 before you tell me to buy a Camry, no Im into cars and dont see it as a tool/appliance. TC 185k #cars
You can’t afford either. Boost that TC first
really? OG M2s are like low 40s high 30s - that seems do able. But I agree pushing it with the other 2 options
People come with family money. Some use cars to attract the partners. Who are us to judge ? Be happy that people wants to spend money. This helps economy stay healthy. OP, I Have track driven most M series cars. Loved M2. Go with the manual / stick shift. You won’t regret. Take a look at “M track days”. Love it.
It would better to recommend if you could explain why 86 is not enough.
its just not really what I wanted, im not into modding either so the 86 to me isn't a project car like it is for many
I have been a driving enthusiast. I own an S2000 right now. It’s stock when I bought it used and still is a stock. Love that car. Cherry on top, it has gained in the market value ($$$) after the added 20k miles on it.
I’d stick with the 86 over the Camry. I prefer the styling of the Supra over the bmw so that would be my choice. You could also look into a Miata or if you don’t mind used and older an s2000. The Miata and s2000 won’t be as fast but they’re convertibles and fun to drive. Hopefully you can drive a manual transmission…
+1 for s2000.
Q60? But make sure you get warranty...
How about a 400z?
Drove one, has lots of power but feels more like a muscle car, didn’t feel as nimble as the f87.
Supra. Better yet, a Porsche.
So what's the budget
The f87 m2 non comp is too old and underpowered imo. F87 competition or Supra would be my choice. Also if you’re ok spending Supra money a 981/718 cayman s would be a good choice too.
C8 Corvette
Porsche
