Will people always have jobs or is there a big catastrophe coming due to AI / offshoring?

Jobs will just change. We used to be farmers or weavers. If AI displaces SWEs (big if), we'll find some other productive way to spend our time

Society creates demands organically. For example we'll have dog therapists instead of dog walkers. The job will require a 4 year degree and a state license. This in turn creates more academic jobs and government jobs.
