Due to ignorance and lack of direction from leadership, you get a chance to be paid to work in a sandbox of sorts. Work life balance can be decent depending on the team you’re on, but in general most IT feels they have to “always be available”. It’s hard to say any pros.
Pay is very weak Benefits are HORRIBLE The CIO’s attitude towards people can be borderline bullying. Will yell at you in front of 80 people on a call. There’s a clique of leaders that came with the CIO when he joined, and the majority of them are pathetic leaders who take more pride in political maneuvering than doing what’s right for the company. They preach record profits but will give some of the worst raises and bonuses around.
