KMB scam For nearly a decade, Uday Kotak of Kotak Mahindra bank (KMB) was locked in a tussle with RBI regarding his stake in the bank exceeding the RBI prescribed limit. On Dec 2018 Uday took the RBI to court over the matter. On Jan 2020, RBI ‘surprisingly’ relented, agreeing fully to the private bank’s proposal in an out-of-court settlement. It turns out that the Kotak group firm had donated INR 25 crore to Modiji 🙏 months leading to the settlement. Additionally INR 10 crore was donated days before the settlement was announced. The same Kotak group firm donated another INR 25 crore to Modiji 🙏 in April 2021, less than three weeks before RBI announced fresh guidelines that allowed Uday Kotak to continue as CEO of KMB for another 32 months. https://tinyurl.com/yeykuh5m Bharti Airtel scam In 2012, the Supreme Court of 🇮🇳 cancelled all 122 telecom licences allotted by the Congress-led government for potential corruption and ordered that the telecom spectrum compulsorily be auctioned. Despite the SC order, Modiji 🙏 forcefully decided to adopt the same route taken by the Congress: discretionary allotment of spectrum. In Dec 2023, Modiji 🙏 passed a new telecom law in a hurry that allowed satellite spectrum to be assigned through an administrative order, without auction. In the run-up to the new law, only one company cleared the first two hurdles in getting satellite spectrum. OneWeb India received both the licence and the space authorisation required to apply for the spectrum. OneWeb India is the Indian subsidiary of international satellite company Eutelsat OneWeb, headquartered in London. The largest shareholder of Eutelsat OneWeb is telecom service provider Airtel’s parent company Bharti Enterprises. On Aug 24, 2021, OneWeb became the first company to receive a GMPCS licence from the Dept of Telecommunications. On November 21, 2023, it was granted authorisation by IN-SPACe, for the use of satellite capacity – the only company to receive this authorisation so far. These two steps are among the prerequisites for applying for spectrum for satellite-based broadband services. While the satellite spectrum is yet to be allocated, it turns out that the Bharti group (largest shareholder of Eutelsat OneWeb) donated INR 150 crore to Modiji 🙏 right before and after Modiji 🙏 introduced the new law and merely a month after OneWeb was granted the space authorisation required to get the spectrum. https://tinyurl.com/279zbpb9 Many more to come As people continue to piece together the electoral bonds data, which was hidden by SBI thus far under Modiji’s 🙏 orders till the Supreme Court forced them to release the data, more and more scams under Modiji 🙏 would get exposed.
