We don’t need phones to be entertained, but we need cars to travel far

this shows how addicted and brainwashed people are. you would give up almost infinite freedom of mobility....over digital handcuffs? my god, people, what strange world

You never even bothered to question why people give up their cars? And make a quick judgement on people? I live in a walkable metropolis, where everything is accessible by train at most. Of the times I travel, I’ll rent my own car. Renting a car twice a month saves more than the total cost of owning a car. So no, this doesn’t show how brainwashed people are. The world isn’t strange because of it. You’re strange for not thinking critically.

Rideshare exists. Owning a car is simply a minor convenience. Phones are a major convenience. Rideshare is just a small subset of the conveniences your phone provides you. People travel the world, run businesses, manage finances, etc. just by using their phones. It's a far more powerful tool.

With a phone, you can Uber. With a car, you have to drive halfway across the country to say hello to your family.

I think the question is about giving up using smart phones for the rest of your life vs giving up using cars for the rest of your life. Not like you can still Uber/rent a car after you chose giving up the car đŸ˜
