I’m planning a birthday party for my toddler who’s turning 3. He is asking for a paw patrol birthday party with all his classmates so I want to do it. It will be at the local park/playground in the Bay Area. There will be about 6 other families from our kids preschool. We joined about 6 months ago so we are cordial with the families but don’t really know each other. It will be around 10am because some of the kids still nap around noon. I’ve never had birthday parties growing up because my parents were immigrants so this will be my first time throwing a kids bday party. What do people usually do? Should I rent a bounce house? What type of food should be provided? Sounds stupid, but I really have very little context for American birthday parties. Please share any tips! Thank you!
Chatgpt would give you the best answer tbh
Pizza for the kids, an extra pizza for the adults plus a salad. Get some paw patrol balloons or streamers (really any basic decor) and plates. At that age the kids will really just have fun running around with each other. Have a cake for your kid at the end!
Get cup cakes, not a cake, people are paranoid about covid. Also get birthday candles, and place them on one cupcake for your child to blow out while everyone sings "happy birthday". Other ppl suggested pizza, but maybe also a vegetable tray for people to snack on, fill a cooler with drinks, healthy and not, get a case of water. The best kid parties have beer 😂
Just came from a 3 year old birthday party last weekend. Bounce house pizza and cupcakes. Give a little goodie bag at the end. Put on something fun and upbeat from Spotify. 3 hours is more than enough. Getting Paw Patrol plates and tablecloths is more than enough for the theme. For the adults pizza and some light alcoholic beverage (beer or wine spritzers) is enough.
Bounce house, balloons, bubble maker. For food / pizza, strawberries/watermelons.

Get a bounce house and pizza. It’s gonna be great and you’ll get to know the parents of other kids better. Get the Paw Patrol plates and everything. Kids like small gift bags too if you want/can. It’s a nice touch. Have fun!
