How to protect from identity theft by CPA’s

For the people who take CPA’s help for tax filing for self or llc’s how to do they protect them selves from identity theft? A CPA with bad intentions or one who do not know how to keep them secure can make fraud. #tax ##irs #cpa

I can get all that info of yours by paying 25$ on a website.

Uber LickBottom Apr 16

“all of that info” is a strong assumption of your ability 😅

JPMorgan Chase jpm_low_tc OP Apr 16

@apple how and what website?

SAIC Blooperz Apr 16

Freeze your credit, and unfreeze it when applying for something. Not hard.

JPMorgan Chase jpm_low_tc OP Apr 16

To some extent this will help. Thanks for pointing that But not all the times,CPA can call your brokerage/ bank/ some utility to make changes on your account very easily, all they ask for is name, dob, address, ssn. Which CPA has all in hand.

Because they will lose their license and go to jail.

JPMorgan Chase jpm_low_tc OP Apr 17

How do you know fraud has been done by your CPA, in case you get scammed? People still do crimes by knowing that they can get jail if they caught. By your logic there should not be any crimes/jail in the world.

Credit Karma ird61064 Apr 17

The reductio ad absurdum is your shitty logic, not mine.

Their license is worth more than your shitty data

JPMorgan Chase jpm_low_tc OP Apr 17

Sorry for your lack of reading and understanding skills. Read that question again. It is about how to protect data and theft, but not what you understood. Some well established CPA may not do such, but some CPA can do themselves or share data with other scammers. You don’t even dare to put your full name here on this blind. Would you? Where have your system design skills gone? Is Google hiring bar that low?

Are all JPM employees like this? 🤢 I will be rejecting you all

Lyft poowater1 Apr 17

yes fraud happens all the time. even when it is uncovered the prison sentence is light. We live in a time and a country where crime is better than non-crime. So if you want to make big bucks, start committing crimes :) i.e. SBF - steal billions and only get 25 year sentence, which he will probably only serve 10 or so before being paroled

Good to know. Thanks.

Do you really work for JPM ? !!! Double check with your firm if the firm will accept a phone call from 3rd party to open an account!

JPMorgan Chase jpm_low_tc OP Apr 17

Give me your ssn, name, dob, address. I can make some (not everything)changes to your bank account.(if you really want to test DM me the details)

Citibank Roselyn🏃‍♀️ Apr 17

Can’t believe this is a person who works for a bank! Why don’t you use your family info to call your bank to see if they do anything for you!

Freeze your credit reports at all bureaus and you’re good

The best thing is to assume all of your info is already leaked and use credit monitoring services and freeze your credit so you don’t see anything weird happening. The federal government leaked my information from when I applied to a federal work study internship in high school.

Use a CPA that has a secure portal
