Can't seem to break this cycle. Tried mediation, nature walks, hobbies. But negative thoughts always come back

Repeat after me, as many times as necessary … The past is history The future is a mystery Here and now is a gift That’s why they call it the present
I would suggest investing your time in consuming philosophies and practicing them daily. Your thinking matures when you engage with philosophy regularly. I'm telling you, going to therapy or other activities will provide only temporary relief unless the root cause is addressed, leading your mind to continuously dwell on regrets. Stick to one philosophy that resonates with your core. Avoid wasting time deciding which one is best for you. You will only truly understand through daily practice of philosophical thinking.
Next time when you do one of those nature walks, just watch your breath alongside other activities (thinking / seeing around etc.) Try doing this everyday and by the end of the walk, your mind becomes so calm that the thought storm you dreaded before goes away by itself!
life punched me in the mouth in a few ways. One of the harder punches was a life altering illness that I’m trying to control so I can go back to my work and life. My therapist reminds me: what’s the point of anxiety? If something bad happens, you pay for it then. But if you worry leading up to it too, you pay twice. Easier said than done. But the words never made sense until I literally hit a critical point Emotions aren’t rational, even worse when there’s concrete shit going on
Focus on the windshield not so much on the rareview mirror son.
