Is it too late to secure summer internship in Supply Chain?

My fiancé is pursuing her Masters in Supply Chain and Logistics in east coast. She is looking for summer internship opportunities in Supply Chain domain in Washington area (near Seattle). Her interests lie in Purchasing, Inventory Management domains. She has been constantly on the lookout for opportunities in Washington area (Even in west coast), but the response rate is very low.
