Hi I was recently laid off by Amazon. I have a quick question around JPM interviews. I am currently interviewing for 602 level role and found a 603 level role I’m am interested in owned by the same recruiter but different team. I was wondering if there is a policy at JPM where the same recruiter can’t submit you for 2 roles. I’m not sure how to proceed as my experiences would put me on the 603 bracket. If so how should I ask the recruiter to have me considered by the 603 level role. Tc:0 Tc at amzn 210k Yoe: 10Y
10 years is enough to get 603. If you start as 602, then it will take another 2 years to reach 603
that would be a minimum 2 years, sometimes it can go up to 5-6 years as well depending on the team and culture!
How long for 603 to VP?
And you won’t be making close to the same compensation.
With 10 YOE you should not go for the 602 role. As others have said it will take time to get to 603 if you accept that one and also difference in pay
are you on h1 visa?
whatever you do, do not accept the 602 role. 10 YOE + an Amazon background, your baseline at any bank is a 603!
What about 604?
Is it safe to join Amazon as an SDE 2?
He said he got laid off!
Market is right. Even in Chase. Good luck
I would recommend ask your recruiter about 603 and it should be fine unless they have that position open . Starting at 602 would definitely take minimum 2 years for you to transition . Good luck !
How can you tell level from the job posting. I did something like OP at Microsoft took a down level and regret ot
Just tell them you want the 603 role.
The only problem is my recruiter is unresponsive.
I don't mean to be negative and I only know capital one. But when I was hired and when we have gone after other Amazon people if they are serious they move super fast. When I was hired I applied for an open role targeted at 3 yoe, then when the recruiter called I just said "oh I thought what I applied for was more senior, can I do a loop the next level up" and they just said sure and it was done in a minute all on the initial screening call. I would recommend that in the future, if they have done work on their end already I think they are more likely to try to keep you on the down level track. I would also advise absolutely not taking a downlevel at a bank unless it's your only option. Even the same title at a bank is really one level below the scope of what you experienced at Amazon not even considering pay. Goodluck!
