Guys - any insights on new community? Schools and neighbourhood looks great. Price point is expensive and also lot premium are bit on higher side. Any feedback will be helpful! Tc- 250k
I would never buy those new-build planned communities. They are always built really cheap and have a super annoying HOA
which ones would you buy ? curious ! hoa is not all bad .. we have a club house and community pool and we use them often . Hoa also imposes fine on people who dont maintain their yard well… so thats a positive sign .. that way neighborhood looks great
A pool and clubhouse is nice, but it’s your property. They shouldn’t be allowed to tell you what you can and can’t do with your own property.
School doesn’t have good ratings, if you don’t have children it’s a great area. Schools will be eventually get better.
You’re so far north yet paying a premium. Your money can go a lot further elsewhere.
Pflugerville is good
North Austin native here… I googled the homes you mentioned. Are you looking at Leander? I personally never cared for that suburb. Not for any specific reason just not been my preference. BUT the public schools are absolutely fine. Not sure what the other commenter is talking about.
I am not sure abt schools not being good 7/8 rates elementary and 9 rated middle school is not good schools? its full of Indian crowd so school rating will be better than what it is now .. Other concerns like price etc are something worthwhile considering ..
Is there a reason you’re drawn to that area? If you’re going to be that far out then you may as well look at Pflugerville, Taylor, and other areas as well.
Leander has much better schools .. Other side of I35 has lot of foundational issues ( https://www.city-data.com/forum/austin/3210160-foundation-issues-part-pflugerville.html) I would stay away from Other side of I35 .. And the growth in and around leander is much better ..
MI sucks
Afaik that area doesn't have good schools. Make sure you check school ratings and confirm.
