Nah i just researched and learnt Bytedance has a separate Tiktok-like app for the domestic market called "Douyin" for better govnt control and censorship. It does not change that Bytedance still has apps to cover both US and China.
It doesn’t help that a Chinese govt controlled app has been propogating anti American sentiment What did you expect the govt to do ? Just accept it
