Visiting Yosemite next weekend (May 11 and 12). Tips for first time visit?
I'll be visiting Yosemite next weekend and staying in Yosemite lodge inside the park for 3 nights. Plan to hike the mist trail ( upto top of Nevada falls ) , lower Yosemite trail, Bridalveil falls and some view points. Looks like glacier point and Tioga road will be closed . Any tips for first time visitors? I'm flying into Fresno and renting a car. Will be reaching 10th evening around 8 pm. Goal was to visit when the Yosemite falls are thundering down from snow melt
Take a raincoat or extra pair of clothes for the misty trail.
Ya that's a good point. How hard it is to reach the top of Nevada falls ? And is it worth it all the way or better to turn around at vernal falls ?
Depends on your stamina and how much hiking experience you have. I went till vernal falls. But Nevada falls are also a good point to turn around.
When I first visited Yosemite I hiked the upper falls without any proper research. It was hard for my not fit body but it was worth it! Amazing views and a nice swim on top of the falls.
Sorry to disappoint- Yosemite is overrated. Let us know what you thought after the trip
Rent a bike to explore the valley.if u have time try to visit mariposa grove of giant sequoias.
Stay on trails Dont go beyond the chains People have lost their lives for Instagram pictures
Yosemite Lodge is awesome. We loved it. And loved the Falls. Very cool. Enjoy.
Please note you need reservations in advance to go into Yosemite, so plan for that!
Since I'm staying inside their lodge, reservations aren't needed !
No pooping in the woods
So awfully crowded. Next time, try a backpacking trip in high sierra for serene, peaceful, beauty.
