Please help evaluate OCI offer. This is fully remote position, as far as I understand for higher figures there’s special approval process. Is it a good offer? Is it a good organization to join?
I think that's too low but depends on the location. I stay in socal, fully remote and make 200~ as a new grad.
Never leave for less money
Why not? Remote vs RTO, can relocate to LCOL, and live better life for less money.
Less money also generally means you're less appreciated, you'll never advance in career as fast as someone RTO too. The difference in COL is way overhyped. Other than rent, everything else is comparable. Sure, gas in California is 1.5x, but that's it.
OCI remote is not a guarantee and that offer is seriously a bag of 🥜 for IC4. Maybe try to get them to come a bit higher and ask in writing they will give you a remote designation from day one. Don’t take any flex bs, most people in OCI were flex and they walked it all back with RTO last year. I personally know people who had to move back to Seattle because of this.
Wait, is principal IC4 level in Oracle?
I thought oci pays top tier
They did for offers in 2019. OCI made it to levels.fyi 2019 report for top 5 highest paying company for IC-2s. Now it's not so good.
I'm currently interviewing for IC4 with oracle OCI, onsite in the next 3 weeks. These numbers are below what my recruiter and I talked about. My minimum is a 325 TC and the recruiter assured me we could reach that at this level, feels like a low ball. Greater Seattle Area is my location.
What is your YOE ?
9 yoe, current TC is 450 with 240 being cash, rest can be considered illiquid as we are pre IPO.
Recently turned down a full remote IC3 at Oracle. TC was 160kish. No room for negotiation. The recruiter initially mentioned you can go through the process to request a higher compensation, but when I tried to negotiate a higher TC, he shot me down. It was discouraging since I would’ve accepted the position at the higher end of the advertised salary, but their max salary came in at the mid level of the advertised salary. Plan for Oracle to low ball and not negotiate offers.
Did you take the offer?
They still prepping it😂
What ? You mean u got verbal and they prepping the written ? 3+ weeks?
Eww
Too low?
Yeah unfortunately. Is it OCI? Base should be atleast 200 and RSUs around 600-700k/4 years. What is this lowball and OCI nowadays! Too low for the level and workload
