Hi everyone, finally broke out from this job market and got 2 offers. 1 is a systems engineering role at Applied Intuition for the Porsche side of the business TC is around 250 (160 base). I also got an offer from GM based out of mountain view for a SWE role (TC unknown right now but I imagine it'll be more than Applied). Wondering what is the right move. Been hearing news about the not so great culture at applied and that they mandate 5 days a week in office. GM role will be hybrid and an actual SWE role. What are your thoughts?
Can you wait until GM makes you an official offer to decide?
What’s your current TC at Rivian? Applied’s base seems too low for 7 YOE. They don’t give bonus.
Completely different companies and roles. Do you wanna work as a syseng in a fast paced startup that may require more effort? Or as a more chill swe in a larger, more beurocratic OEM? All depends on what you actually want to do day to day and I think comp is secondary here
This x100. They are apples and oranges
this is how they brainwash you ! The leaders are making millions here and then they want you to not think about comp!
I talked to a manager at Applied, they work a lot of hours. GM can be laid back if you are in the right role.
Is this part of cruise? Curious why GM specifically.
You can dm me for insights on Applied.
Happy to talk as well if you have questions on Applied.
