Anyone had an interview with convoy? I like to know what they asked in their interviews.
I have an offer from uber as well, but I believe convoy would be better to go with
I had an interview with convoy for a position I was overqualified for and had basically the same job already at a larger company. The CEO asked very arbitrary case style questions “tell me your greatest passion” “now to build that into a non profit”. He then chipped a way at it in a way that made zero sense but it seemed like a “cool startup question” for a guy that came off as very corporate. Not impressed. Also their office is very dull is used to SF startup office culture. However I was impressed with some other people who I met with so wouldn’t fully write it off.
Do you remember any other question ?
I interviewed for an director role in Ops, so the questions may not be relevant if interviewing for a more technical role. The majority of the questions from other interviewers were behavioral and conversational based off my experience. Nothing you wouldn’t expect except the CEO question

For anyone using search - I interviewed with them. They are basically mini Amazon They have company value list - similar to Amazon. Original ppl were all Amazon. Interview process is basically Amazon at senior level. 65%+ of it is behavioral - very aggressive behavioral. 1. 30 min behavioral + Leetcode Hard problem 2. 30 min behavioral + Leetcode medium-> hard problem 3. 30 min behavioral + Design Instagram / Twitter / etc .. 4. 30 min behavioral + Design a feature in their app 5. One was 30min full behavioral Impression was that they are trying to create environment similar to Amazon. 1 guy was arrogant / off. 1 guy was super cool. 1 guy was aggressive / unfriendly 2 guys were whatever / fake Recruiter was top 5 prettiest people Ive seen (Call me! : 1-800-LEETCODE)
As first step, did you meet one of their developer for coffee? What to expect there?
yes met with the developer for coffee. you should expect not actually having any coffee :). it was just a one-hour talk discussing interests and employment history on my side. he also presented the company and what they do their Technology stack Etc. no technical questions whatsoever. there might have been a couple behavioral questions but I'm not sure about that.
They interviewed me for a Senior Product Manager - Payments role and I had two phone rounds with them which went really good. Then they reached out to me for scheduling a final round, I gave them my time, planned my day around this 5-hour interview also did spend time with the recruiter, Charles for a prep call for the final round. Early morning, I joined my first interview call when my interviewer/ Convoy’s Principal Product Manager told me how they have already hired a person into the role. They waited all the way to the final interview call to tell me how they have filled out a position for which they were wasting my time. Post that, I sent a note to the chirpy recruiter who had been super nice and prompt to me all this time about how the whole experience has been a waste of time for me and how they should make sure to let candidates know early if they are filling the position. He never responded. This reflects so poorly on their people values. I have put a big black cross on this firm and would never ever interview in my life. Beware of this firm and it’s shitty recruiting process which do not respect candidates’ time.
