Folks can you help me choose ? Here are my criteria: - looking for to keep it for 5 years - having a child is within the scope of these 5 years but TBD - afraid of all BMW stories, looking for a good car that can be used for 10-15k miles a year while it has the luxury face - reliable and donāt need to be worry about oil leakage and etc - no more than 40% drop of its value after 3-5 years Never had SUVs and I hate them, I just have reached a point a life that I think we need one. X3 ride was fine but just afraid of their issues (had a 330 before and it wasnāt that bad) 540 and 340M are both V6 with 540 having a bit more space TC 330k
X5 instead buddy!!
Test drive it 2 times. It is like a coffin ā°ļøā¦ big and useless ā¦ it is not nimble as 540 or even X3. I just donāt see myself ever in that car ā¦
You are the only person I ever heard that said x5 is not nimble. It is one of the best handling mid size suv out there. Not sure which year model and trim you drove, you should give it another shot.
X3 has BMW B58 that is vetted by Toyota (for Supra). Itās been reliable as hell and took BMW out of the unreliability hellhole starting 2019 i think (ranks higher than Honda today for this) Get the m40i xDrive for added sportiness and it has less value dip as compared to X3
SQ5 or RSQ8
Garbage.
If garbage had 1 resemblance in German cars that would have been SQ5 ! Bro just walk on your barefoot and donāt even try these š
Dude, these are 2 cars that could not be compared at all. Cayenne will smoke X3 in every comparison. The only issue with Cayenne is its resale value, itās really difficult to sell used one. So you either take a lease, or buy used one CPO where the dealer will give you a good discount. Also, if you have budget and donāt wanna do lease, donāt buy base Cayenne. No one wants them used.
So your take is either buy none base models of cayenne or just lease them brand new ? Do you think buying a Cayenne S 2023 used with less than 10k miles is a good buy?
I donāt think 2023 would be a good idea, simply because it wonāt depreciate enough to be a good deal. Roughly itās going to be around 70-80k. Iād start my search from 2021 with low mileage, up to 20k miles. CPO. Also Porsche can extend warranty. Itās going to be absolutely great car, no issues for 3-5 years. Donāt be shy to lowball them, they are desperate to sell their inventory.
Cayenne === X5 Macan === X3
Cayenne is in same league as X5 (not X3) Researched/test drove both and got X5. X5 is sporty and yet has tons of room. Especially if you are planning to have long trips, have pets or family, X5 is a no brainer. Go with Cayenne only if you are buying the top trim (S).
You are scared of all the bmw stories but considering Porsche? Do you know how much is a Porsche oil change?
I donāt know but I owned BMWs and I know they arenāt that far off
Itās pretty far off actually. BMW is a lot cheaper. Porsche maintenance cost is another level.
I own a Porsche Cayenne S, and my wife owns X5 xdrive. Porsche maintenance cost is 2x of BMW, gas for Cayenne is 15 MPG X5 is 24/25, Porsche oil change needed every 5K Miles, X5 every 8000 miles and costs 50% of Porsche. The only reason to buy Porsche would be for drive quality and luxury.
So I test drove X5 2 times and there is no way I drive that thing. Do you think Cayenne is a much better experience ? How about its sportiness ? Does it feel like an actual sport car or it is another coffin like x5?
If you want sporty driving get a Macan or 911. Cayenne drives well for its size but is still a boat.
Why are you comparing cayanne to x3 its better to pair macan to x3 and cayanne to x5
Cayanne doesnāt feel as big as X5. Thatās why I like it
This! Better off with NX F sport then
