Amazon L7 down level
Just finished the round of interviews and was down leveled to an L6. Is this normal? Im currently an IC7 at Meta with almost 20 years of experience so that came as a surprise. I felt very good with the interviews but obviously it's subjective. TC: $800K
Don’t join at L6. You will regret it.
Yeah so Amazon is out. I would say that that was not normal. Your interviews didn’t go well or they aren’t taking you serious for some other reason.
Every company down levels at L7. It’s very hard to get external offers at this level. Your TC seems low for IC7 Meta?. Amazon L6 TC would be lower than your current. Doesn’t make sense to join
Push for more interviews to get L7. It’s so hard to promo internally between L6 and L7. With your YOE you should be L7
I doubt if you’ll even make half of that at Amazon at L6 honestly.
Just don’t join them then
