Anyone else find that SF/Bayrestaurant closing hours are crazy early compared to other big cities? I see so many 8:30pm closing hours nowadays that it makes me concerned for the local economy and it's no wonder people prefer using Doordash. Most office workers who would love to go to restaurants end work at 6/6:30pm and then would love to go the gym. But good luck showering and changing in time for a 7:45 or 8pm reservation when everything closes at freaking 8 or 8:30! Maddening! And this isnβt even a city that really opens that early! Most coffee shops open at 8:30 or 9am. So good luck compensating by becoming a morning person. Before everyone starts yelling at me, who do you think is actually eating at SF restaurants and paying crazy SF restaurant prices, like $14 for a single bite of food or 2 scallops or $18 for a cocktail? It's people with office jobs! But since everything is closed, we'll just do Doordash instead. Is it the future of SF/Bay restaurants that wait staff will just become Doordash delivery drivers? End rant. And yes I'm sure I am to blame in some way for all of this, just sharing my feedback as any other American city doesn't have this issue.
It also depends on what kind of food you want. Chinatown and Little Italy might be better. If you're looking to go clubbing that's a bit different.
Yes. Many restaurants even completely closed on Sundays, its super annoying
Shitcity
It's not safe
No, 6am is plenty long for me
Did you just post this on Reddit as well?
The homeless start getting rowdy when they're all drugged up at night.
SF Bay area is the most boring place on the earth.
You clearly haven't been anywhere lol
Living in bay area from 10 years. In South Bay we have castro and university ave, thatβs it. What else we have? SF downtown is shit.
