Best outdoorsy SUV?

Really torn between a 5th Gen 4Runner, 6th Gen 4Runner, Land Cruiser LC trim, GX premium trim and Rivian. Of course, these are all completely different price points. Why should I get a Rivian over a 45k car (5th Gen 4Runner) if I’ll never spend the price difference on fuel for next few years? Also how good are Rivian for long road trips? Both wife and I live in PNW and are super outdoorsy. Love car camping and climbing etc. tend to go to remote places where I won’t be able to find EV chargers easily. Edit: here are some non negotiable features: CarPlay Heated seats Heated steering wheel Ability to fold seats flat so we can sleep in the car Blind spot monitors Parking sensors

Get a 2017/2018 Lexus GX. It’s a baby Land Cruiser. Built like a tank and can take you anywhere. Or if the size ain’t a problem get a Land Cruiser, again used would be my recommendation

I’m from Michigan so I’m probably biased. Nobody really drives Toyota here.

Honestly really like the look of the new CRV and Pilot with the acventure-y trims

Those are crossovers, not SUVs

Bought a cheap bronco sport after looking at some of these models and really enjoying it. Still capable enough off-road to do what I need but easier to get around with in the city.

Broncos have a bad reliability history, and are more expensive.

Lucid Motors TheBigDDD May 4

Bronco Sport is not expensive. But it’s basically an Escape underneath so it’s not really “outdoorsy” aside from having a little extra ground clearance vs. a sedan.

4runner. Reliability, cost of maintenance, ability to handle almost nay terrain, cheap maintenance. You won't find the above qualities on a rivian that has limited capabilities in all departments, plus they are expensive

Get one of the 4 runners. If you are actually outdoorsy the rivian is a bad move. Electric limits your choices severely. Want to camp at certain climbing locations? Good luck charging if it’s slightly remote and not super popular . Electric cars are good commuter vehicle, not outdoorsy . T. Also climber who used to be on the west coast. Went with a Tacoma , but would have been just as happy with a 4 runner FJ etc.

You can take 7.5kW generator with you, it will charge overnight and takes 2 gallons of gas
