Today, I witnessed a traumatic event when my cat caught a bird from the backyard, resulting in a fatal neck injury. The bird succumbed to its injuries within a minute of being brought inside, leaving me deeply disturbed. I plan to take measures to prevent such incidents in the future by using bird collars on my cats, but I'm struggling to come to terms with what I saw. The bird gasped for breath and then died. I’m crying 😭 Edit: I know it’s a cat’s nature to hunt and kill. I’m in no way blaming the cat. I’m just traumatized because I saw a bird die in front of my eyes.
That sucks
Flash news : cats hunt birds. They would hunt you too if they were big cats.

Life is suffering man. Its sad, but now its free from the endless toil of existence
It’s the nature of cats to hunt and kill. And as is death of all things, even your cat. Sounds like the bird died more pleasantly than most wild creatures, and more quickly than many creatures do too, so be grateful.
It’s nature, survival of the fittest! Learn a thing from this experience
Yes, it hurts to watch someone or something die. We don’t think twice while eating meat but when it happens in front of us, it’s brutal. It’s part of nature. It’s not your cat’s fault. Hope you feel better !!
Dogs and cats are predators and are invasive species. I know that large number of dog and cat owners like to think that their dog or cat is the sweetest thing on the earth and won’t harm anyone but that is far from the reality.
Don’t keep a cat then. Not unless you need to catch mice.
Get your cat to spend more time on their phone.
