My parents never really cared about my emotions and were never curious about how I felt about things and events. They never opened up about their emotions too. After I became an adult and went through a lot of emotional struggles, I realize now that this is not normal.
I believe this is common in America with boomers. Most likely, your parents’ parents didn’t talk about feelings as well. With mental health being a millennial and gen Z thing, it’s common to feel that way.
It's generational shift, you don't get everything in life. Learn to heal, read a lot on emotions, learn from people, take therapy. That's the only way to resolve. My parents didn't talk about them either and it hurts.
Indian parents do that. No emotions. Only “family” and money.
Only parents, relatives and prestige
Mom likes her side relatives more than dad. And vice versa. Both toxic.
