Effing summer camps

I feel their only and main goal is to milk every last possible dollar from parents. And no we dont have parents to visit over the summer.

Wow how to start one.

Just tell your kids to get leadership experience in a gang. Looks good on the ole resume. Worked for me.

Qualcomm Mohlo Apr 29

Where did you get your job... a record label owned by Lil Wayne?

Microsoft showercode Apr 29

… Microsoft. It’s listed next to my name. In the gang setting you really learn about leadership via influence instead of leadership from authority, especially since so many of us have baked in problems with authority. It’s practically a free MBA before other kids have a bachelor’s. Also DEI can help. Diversity in perspective.

Hire nanny for the summer. Can drive kids to park, library, pool etc. Leverage summer activities at local library, community center which is inexpensive and sometimes free. It’s frugal, won’t give you bragging rights. But who cares? As long as kids have fun

Qualcomm Mohlo Apr 29

A nanny is frugal? Most parents raised their own kids. (No nanny). That's frugal

Amazon yx14tyh Apr 29

Nanny will charge that much for 8 hours. She can drive kids around to multiple inexpensive classes, take kids to park, meal prep etc. That’s a lot better roi. Most summer camps will call it something - swim camp for example. Kids will be swimming for maybe 2 hours. Rest of time is snack time, leadership skills all that fluff. With nanny, kids will remain occupied longer. Also, if talking Seattle or Bay Area, this is frugal. The post says 675 for half a day.

What would be different?

Summer camps a/k/a daycare. Our county runs some reasonably priced programs through the park and rec department as does the YMCA and Boys and Girls clubs.

What’s your county

Investment Bank Glinda Apr 30

Loudoun County, VA - outside of DC. When I was in King Co., WA, I used a few Christian camps + Boys and Girls Club in Kirkland.
